Megaworld Unveils Plans to Build an Italian-Inspired Residential Complex in The Mactan Newtown

Megaworld, a leading property developer, has announced the launch of its sixth residential condominium project, the Positano Mactan, in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

The development will be situated within the 30-hectare The Mactan Newtown, and it will feature 301 units with a smart home system, ranging in size from studio units to three-bedroom units, with varying types such as lofts and bi-level units. The project will also have two floors of retail space with designs inspired by the vibrant public markets of Positano.

Designed by Casas+Architects, Inc., the façade of the 17-storey Positano Mactan mirrors the charming Italian resort town, Positano, through its earth-tone colors, such as beige, warm white, light yellow, and terracotta red. The development will have a high-ceiling lobby adorned with Mediterranean tiles, decorative plates, and pots that reflect the vibrancy of Positano’s exceptional arts and crafts.

Amenities and Sustainability Features

Residents will have access to a wireless smart home system that they can control remotely through a smartphone app. Amenities include an adult infinity pool, wet lounge and pool deck, children’s pool with water play, and cabanas. Other amenities include a reading nook, an outdoor fitness area, a children’s playground, daycare, a bi-level game room, a fitness gym, and a high-ceiling, pillar-less function room with outdoor spill-over area that can host up to 90 guests. The property will feature a total of eight terrazas located on the 14th and 16th floors, respectively, and will offer breathtaking views of the Magellan Bay, the Hilutungan Channel, the township, the nearby islands, and the rest of The Mactan Newtown.

Positano Mactan will have a variety of green and sustainability features such as energy-generating outdoor fitness equipment, low flow rate fixtures to promote water conservation, occupancy sensors in hallways and parking floors that help conserve energy, LED lights, and a rainwater harvesting system.

Positano Mactan Set to Boost Sales in The Mactan Newtown Township

Megaworld expects to generate around P2-billion in sales from Positano Mactan, which is scheduled for completion in 2028. The Mactan Newtown currently hosts more than 2,000 residential condo units, two hotel properties from Megaworld Hotels & Resorts, nearly 81,000 square meters of gross leasable office spaces, and a school. Soon, a convention center, a museum, and a two-level ‘beach mall’ will also rise in the township to offer more leisure and accommodation options for visiting travelers.
