Mega Cebu Organizes Youth as Tribute to NTM Celebration
A Mega Cebu representative on Saturday vowed to organize the youth sector as their tribute to the national teachers’ month (NTM) celebration.
Jackie Clavin of Mega Cebu believed the youth being the future of our country will also do their part to contribute anything cognizant to the values they learned from their mentors in school.
Clavin said a big participation of the youth sector to their teachers’ month celebration are their big achievements in building their community with strong leadership.
She said good leaders can be found in the youths who, with guidance coming from what they learned in school, can easily make any transparent decisions necessary to help their co-youngsters reform to the basic way of living and to walk in the path of righteousness.
Clavin said Mega Cebu considers teachers as a group of citizens who help building the nation through their responsive governance to the students.
Teachers according to Clavin serve as the government’s mouth to say what is good and bad for our future so “they give a big participation to the nation building”, she added.
Clavin also said Mega Cebu wanted to promote a long term and collaborative planning and action towards a more sustainable city.
She explained this concept was promoted by the Metro Cebu Development and Coordinating Board (MCDCB) whose dream is to allow Cebu City to become an identity in the whole region of Central Visayas.
MCDCB is a consortium of Cebu province’ 13 cities and municipalities, located in the eastern side of Cebu island, including the cities of Carcar, Naga, Talisay, Cebu, Mandaue, Lapulapu and Danao and municipalities of San Fernando Minglanilla, Cordova Consolacion, Liloan and Compostela.
Also under the MCDCB supervision are the regional libe agenci and private and civil society organizations, Clavin said.
