Media and PhilHealth: Partners in Disseminating Accurate Information on NHIP

Pasig City – Personalities from tri-media organizations participated in the recent Social Health Insurance Education Series (SHInES) of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) held at Astoria Plaza, Ortigas, Pasig City.

The activity aims to fully equip the media with basic information on the National Health Insurance Program, its benefits, services and policies as well as their role in advocating the program. The SHInES for Media in Astoria is the second and last education series in the National Capital Region for this year.

PhilHealth Corporate Affairs Group OIC-Vice President Dr. Israel Francis A. Pargas thanked the media partners in taking their time to attend the activity in spite of their busy schedules. “It is a challenge for us to gather our media partners in this kind of event but we are determined not just to educate them of what PhilHealth is all about but how to appreciate and understand the program as well,” Pargas said.

The SHInES for media is being conducted in different parts of the country to further strengthen ties with media and ensure that they deliver accurate information to the public. (Michelle S. Nisperos)
