MCWD Offers Water Subsidy to Low-Consuming Households in Cebu City
The Metropolitan Water Cebu District (MCWD) has proposed a P200 million water subsidy for low-consuming residents in Cebu City.
According to the proposal, Cebu City residents who consume only ten cubic meters or less will no longer have to pay their monthly water bills, which will benefit 35,000 residents in the city, according to MCWD Chairman Atty. Joey Daluz.
Meanwhile, residents who consume eleven cubic meters to 30 cubic meters of water will only have to pay the basic water charges as other charges will be shouldered by the Cebu City government.
Cebu City Edgardo Labella also expressed his full support for this program.
Labella said that this would help low-income families, especially during this pandemic. (ASC)
