MCCI Lines Up Activities for Mandaue Business Month 2014
This year’s Mandaue Business Month (MBM) is focused on promoting sustainable and socially-responsible entrepreneurship in partnership with Cebu provincial government and Cebu City government to make Mandaue City an attractive destination for business and investment.
The Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), who organized the MBM 2014, have lined up various activities that strongly reflect this year’s theme, “Integration + Innovation = Opportunity” this August.
MBM 2014 will converge 17 business chambers from all over the Visayas regions and 500 business delegates from the regions and Metro Manila are expected to attend in addition to those who are coming from Cebu.
In his address, MCCI President Jeruel Roa urge every one to witness MBM every August and go beyond promoting Mandaue as a “hub of industry in the Southern Philippines”.
Events such as Trees Brew Life, a tree planting activity on August 2; “Bridging Park on August 5; Greening Innovation Forum and Exhibition on Aug. 19 to 21; Search for Women in Need Now Entrepreneurs and Rolemodels on Aug. 27; Go Negosyo Creativity & Innovation Summit on Aug. 29; Franchising Forum and Exhibition on Aug. 28-29; Run for ERUF on Aug. 30, which needs to raise P45 million to complete its paramedics training faculty in Mandaue City; and MBM Selfie Online Contest, are set to materialize the Chamber’s end-goal.
The major highlight of the month-long gala is the hosting of 23rd Visayas Area Business Conference (VABC) under the auspices of the Philippines Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) on Aug. 21-22 at Oakridge Pavillion.
“The conference will be a learning event where renowned and competent personalities share their knowledge and expertise on different subjects relating to the MBM’s theme,” said Stanley Go, VABC director.
VABC will be concurrently held with the MCCI Business Summit, a one day learning event where invited renowned and competent speakers interact with the participants through activities and discussions on different subjects related to the with the aim of educating and inspiring the participants.
Speakers for the event include Dr. Vicky Belo of Belo Medical Clinic; Pinky Yee, marketing director of Goldilocks Bakeshop; and Ricky Mercado, former director of the Family Business Development Center of John Gokongwei School of Management of Ateneo de Manila University.
MBM 2014 was launched last July 25 at the Laguna Garden, Ayala Center Cebu. This is also part of the Mandaue City’s 45th Charter Day celebration.
