Mayor Sara Asks Support for Jinggoy, Imee, Karlo in 2019 Polls
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio on Thursday endorsed the candidacies of former Senator Jinggoy Estrada, Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos, and Davao City 1st District Rep. Karlo Nograles in the 2019 polls.
Mayor Sara made the endorsement during the Mandaue City 49th Charter Day Celebration at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex.
“I won’t be running for senator in the 2019 election, but I’m asking you to support former Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, Gov. Imee Marcos, and my former enemy but now friend Congressman Karlo Nograles,” the presidential daughter told the audience.
Duterte-Carpio also thanked the Mandauehanons for giving his father, former Davao City Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte, the opportunity to serve them as President of the Republic of the Philippines.
Estrada, Marcos, and Nograles also graced and delivered messages during the occasion, where Duterte was guest of honor.
Mandaue Mayor Luigi Quisumbing said “Aug. 30, 2018” is considered a banner day for the city as the President and his daughter accepted his invitation to grace the 49th Charter Day celebration.
“I’m very proud and honored that the President and Mayor Sara decided to grace us with their presence for our charter day celebration,” Quisumbing said. “This is truly a historic day for Mandaue City.”
Quisumbing also vowed to continue supporting the programs of the President, most especially the anti-drug campaign of the Duterte administration.
“I pledge to help you (Duterte) fulfil your mission and vision for a greater Philippines,” Quisumbing told the President in his welcome address.
As part of the celebration, Quisumbing also launched the Mandaue City-National Housing Authority Low-Rise Housing Project during the event. (PNA)
