Marcos US Trip Yields $3.9-B Investment Pledges
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr’s United States working visit yielded a total of USD3.9 billion in investment pledges from US businessmen, according to Malacañang on Thursday.
The investment pledges will come from industries such as Information Technology and Business Process Management (IT-BPM), data centers, and manufacturing, Malacañang added.
The investment pledges are seen to create 112,285 jobs.
However, Malacañang in a clarification said that the estimates that they gave may not represent the extent to the full potential of the investments.
Moreover, Malacañang added that more investment may be on the way.
“Companies had expressed interest in considering new or further investments in the country, but their plans have yet to be firmed up,” the press release from Malacañang read.
Before his United Nations General Assembly address, Marcos met with members of the US-Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Business Council and the US Chamber of Commerce, seeking investments. (GFB)
