Mandaue to Use CCTV to Monitor Floods
With the rainy season slowly creeping in, Mandaue City is set to install closed circuit television (CCTV) units in flood-prone areas to monitor the rise of rainwater.
Mayor Jonas Cortes said they will also set up a disaster command center to monitor these CCTVs for quick action in case they notice a developing flood. Cortes said this way they can evacuate residents to higher grounds before flood strikes. The city, based on its own survey, has 4,000 houses scattered in various creeks and low-lying areas.
