Mandaue Launches 3rd Gawad Linaw Award
The city of Mandaue launched the search for Gawad Linaw Awards 2019 on Friday, April 26 through Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (TIPC).
On May 1, Labor Day, nomination will start for Small, Medium and Large enterprises including unionized and non-unionized firm.
This is the first and only program in the whole Central Visayas and it was led by Mandaue City Vice Mayor Carlo Fortuna.
The Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) headed by Girlie Garces and the National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMD) also contributed to the said program.
The objective of the program is to let the workers know that if they work peacefully and productively, the companies and the quality of the products will be more progressive including also the community.
“In this way we are promoting industrial peace in all of our business establishments in the city. If we are also after for the welfare of the workers, we will be successful in our goals and be more progressive,” Mandaue City Vice Mayor Carlo Fortuna said.
During the program launch, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-7) Regional Director Salome Siaton were among the guests who expressed her appreciation for the initiative of Mandaue and TICP. (MLC)
