Mandaue City’s Income Rose to P2.7B in 2015 – Mayor
Mandaue City’s total income increased from PHP633 million in 2007 to PHP2.7 billion this year, Mayor Jonas Cortes said.
The city’s assets also increased from PHP1.4 billion in 2007 to PHP2.8 billion this year, he said.
Cortes, who first assumed as mayor in 2007, bared this during his last State of the City Address on Wednesday.
Cortes said he had also cut down the city’s debt from PHP819 million in 2007 to PHP232 million in 2015.
He said during the same period the city’s allocation for senior citizens and persons with disabilities also increased from PHP200,000 to PHP55 million.
He said the cash aid for registered senior citizens in the city will be increased to PHP6,000 next year from PHP3,000 this year.
The city’s allocation for the Special Education Fund grew from PHP54 million to PHP143 million, while the number of indigent members enrolled by the city in the Philippine Health Corp. insurance increased from 9,000 to 21,737.
Cortes said the salary of job-order workers rose from PHP235 to PHP340.
Cortes also bared two forthcoming major real estate developments in the city.
These are the Project Diana, a 16.6-hectare development in Barangay Subangdaku and a joint venture of Ayala and Aboitiz-owned firms and Mandani Bay, a 20-hectare bayside development of Hong Kong Land and Taft Property Ventures.
He said these projects are expected to generate thousands of new jobs in the city. (PNA) FFC/EB/SGP
