Mandaue City to Solve Traffic Problem

Mandaue City is one of the most congested cities in Metro Cebu and in the whole Cebu Province since it is considered as a gate way to different places in northern Cebu.

Now, the local government of Mandaue City is strengthening their plans to solve the city’s problem on traffic.

Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes already coordinated and came up with different strategies.

As of the moment, there is an Urban Transport Master plan for Metro Cebu introduced by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Cortes said that they will review the plan since the problem on traffic cannot be solved easily.

Meanwhile, the said master plan includes a multi-modal bridge that will connect Mandaue City and Lapu-Lapu City.

This bridge will serve as an additional portal for people traveling the Mandaue-Lapu-Lapu route and vice versa.

Cortes, who was a former congressman of the 6th district in Cebu Province coordinated with the Department of Public Works and Highways to develop Mandaue City and other places in the 6th district of Cebu.

Cebu 6th district also includes municipalities of Consolacion and Cordova. (MLC)
