Mandaue Children’s Choir: Recruiting for US Tour 2016

Fresh from their victory from Georg Friedrich Handel Internationales Kinderchor Festival in Halle, Germany, the Mandaue Children’s Choir gave an astounding performance at SM Consolacion to open the ceremonies for Dennis’ Muzik House Summer Recitals. Maestro Dennis Gregory A. Sugarol , the choir director of MCC, is also the owner and head of Dennis MuzikHaus Studio -a music school solely erected for developing the musical abilities of children.

Sugarol used to be a choir director for Mandaue City School for the Arts Children Choir. Because of his direction and his students’ dedication and tremendous talents, they won their first award in November 27, 2004 for the National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA) as its first prize winner. Even when he left the school, he was still the choir director upon the conviction and support of his students, their parents and the community.

Today, 11 years later, they have won 3 gold medals at the 1st Asian Choir Games held in Jakarta, Indonesia in 2007; first prize at Grand Prix of Choirs at the World Choir Championships in Gyeongnam Province of South Korea in July 2009; and the top prize in Hong Kong International Children and Youth Choir Festival in 2011. For its US Tour in 2016, they are recruiting children to join its prestigious Mandaue Children’s Choir.

However, it doesn’t stop there. Sugarol, seeing the potential in Cebuano individuals, decided to put up Dennis MuzikHaus Studio. It offers courses in piano, voice, guitar, drums, choir training, violin, sax and recorder. It is located at 2nd floor CTK Commercial Bldg. Tabok , Mandaue City and Sitio Lourdes, Poblacion, Liloan.
