Magnitude 3.5 Earthquake Shakes Surigao del Sur

(PNA) — A magnitude 3.5 earthquake struck Surigao del Sur province on Monday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

In its bulletin, Phivolcs said the tremor occurred at 4:41 a.m, the epicenter was traced 56 kilometers northeast of Bayabas in Surigao del Sur.

The agency said the quake, which was tectonic in origin, had a shallow depth of 32 kilometers.

Phivolcs said there was no casualty or damage reported from the temblor and no aftershocks are expected as well. (PNA) LAM/CLTC
