LTO’s 2nd Plate Printer Now Operational
To fast track the distribution of plate numbers among vehicles owners, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) has already made its second automated plate printer operational.
The said robot is commissioned to print motorcycle license plates. The said printer is capable of manufacturing 450 motorcycle license plates in an hour, that is 3,600 motorcycle plates in 8 hours.
Two LTO personnel will operate the said robot at the LTO’s Plate-Making Facility in Quezon City.
Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade said that the second plate printer would fast track the distribution of motorcycles in the country.
“First time natin nagkaroon ng high-tech na robot na gumagawa ng plaka, first time din natin nagkaroon ng dalawa. Hindi na ‘ho manu-mano ang paggawa ng ating plaka. Sa tulong nitong IDE-Robot, mas mapapabilis pa natin ang distribusyon ng plaka para sa ating mga motorista. I have to commend Asec. Galvante for this important initiative (Its our first time to acquire a high-tech robot that manufactures plates, it is also our first time to acquire two of these. This is not already made by hand. With the help of this IDE-Robot, this will hasten the distribution of plates to our motorists. I have to commend Asec. Galvante for this important initiative),” Secretary Tugade said.
LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante also said that the newest plate-making robot will complement the existing plate-making machines of LTO. (ASC)
