LTO to Release New License Plates in July
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) here announced Tuesday that it will release the license plates for vehicles registered from July to September 2016 by the first week of July 2018.
To guide them on the procedure in getting the license plates, LTO Provincial Head Gerardo Navares advised the motor vehicles owners to contact their dealers as plates will be available for release by the dealer starting July 5, Tuesday.
In another vein, Navares asked for public understanding after the release of drivers’ license cards was delayed.
He said the delay was caused by the breakdown of Philippine Long Distance Telephone’s fiber optic internet connection in Catanduanes.
Releasing of the cards will resume once the internet connectivity problem is resolved.
As regards the alleged implementation of JAO 2014-01 against motorists violating RA 4136 or the Land Transportation Rules and Regulations, Navares echoed the Department of Transportation’s advisory that the information was a mere falsehood that came from unofficial source or sources.
Factual information comes from official advisories and releases of government agencies as these are the legitimate sources of government information, he added. (PIA5/Catanduanes)
