LTO Files Admin Rap Vs Cashier
Government cashiers are just receiving monthly salaries of not over P20,000 but the cashier of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Mandaue City claimed that she hired a private employee in her office to help her in her work.
Because of her actuation, LTO-7 Acting Regional Director Arnel Tancinco has filed administrative complaint for grave misconduct before the Ombudsman-Visayas against Teresa Josefina Tambolero, for unauthorized hiring of an outsider to work at her office.
Tambolero, a resident of White Hills, Banawa in Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City was the subject of a early complaint filed by Dr. Danilo Dionson, an LTO accredited physician.
Dionson complaint claimed that Tambolero allowed one Melody Amimita, who worked in Tambolero’s office, also acted as ‘fixer’ of her insurance agency located just in front of the LTO-Mandaue District. Dionson also claimed that in several occassion, he observed that Melodie Amimita worked overtime inside the office of Tambolero encoding documents into the office computer.
But Aden Belza, head of the LTO-7 Administrative Division, said the Mandaue City LTO cashier was investigated about the complaint of Dionson and later they filed an administrative case against her.
In her sworn statement, Tambolero admitted that she hired Amimita to assist on her work for her to be more efficient and effective on her performance.
In the same statement, Tambolero said Amimita does not own the reported insurance firm that operates in LTO district office, but said it was Amimita’s brother Aldwin Ebales who owns the insurance agency.
The cashier argued that even if Amimita would make transactions in behalf of the insurance agency of her brother, she believed that there is nothing anomalous therein because there is nothing illegal with such transactions.
“Besides, there is no conflict of interest with such transactions considering that she is not an employee of LTO-Mandaue City when she made such transactions. Amimita is not a professional fixer, but rather my personal assistant,” Tambolero said.
Because of Tambolero’s admission that she hired the services of an outsider to work inside her office, LTO-7
Acting Regional Director Arnel Tancinco filed the administrative complaint against her before the anti-graft body.
