LTFRB 7, LTO 7 Chiefs Wait for Order to Leave Post
The directors of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) 7 and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) 7 are awaiting order from their central offices in Manila to leave their respective posts.
President Rodrigo Duterte, in a press conference early on Sunday, said presidential appointees must consider themselves resigned effective immediately.
He said he still hear about corruption being committed by people, especially in the regulatory agencies.
He specifically cited LTO and LTFRB.
But LTFRB 7 Director Ahmed Cuizon and LTO 7 Acting Director Alita Pulga said they are doing their best in their agencies.
Cuizon said he stopped signing documents starting Monday and was awaiting orders from their central office to leave his post and turn over the office to whoever would be appointed to replace him.
Cuizon, who assumed the post of LTFRB 7 director some five months ago, said he had not issued a single new franchise for public utility vehicles (PUVs) covered by the moratorium.
Pulga, on the other hand, said she had assigned security guards to watch the entrance gates to drive away peddlers or fixers of insurance, medical certificates and drug tests after she was named LTO 7 OIC when Director Arnel Tancinco resigned. (PNA) RMA/EB/EDS
