LPA May Enter PAR in 24 Hours, Rain Over Northern Luzon-PAGASA
State weather agency reported that light rain may fall over parts of Northern Luzon on Friday even as a low-pressure area (LPA) approaching from the east may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility in the next 24 hours.
PAGASA’s Buddy Javier, over GMA’s dzBB radio, said isolated light rain may fall over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, and Ilocos, noting that the Northeast Monsoon is affecting the Northern Luzon area.
Metro Manila and other parts of the country may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms, PAGASA said.
In its 5 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA also indicated moderate to strong winds from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and the eastern section of Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.
for some parts of the country, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast with slight to moderate seas.
Coming LPA
PAGASA said the approaching LPA was estimated at 1,040 km east of Mindanao as of 4 a.m.
They expected it to enter PAR in 24 hours, adding that there are less chances for it to become a typhoon.
Should the LPA become a cyclone while inside the PAR, PAGASA said it will be locally codenamed Seniang.
PAGASA reported that gale warning is up over the seaboards of Northern Luzon, with waves reaching 3.4 to 4.5 meters high.
It advised fisherfolk and those aboard small seacraft may have to avoid going out to sea due to the danger of big waves.
