LoveYourself Whitehouse Commemorates World AIDS Day Through Fashion

Advocacy group LoveYourself commemorates World AIDS Day 2020 through a “Fashion For a Cause”. Held at the Robinson’s Galleria Cebu from December 5-11, 2020, InDep, a group of independent Cebu-based fashion designers will showcase different couture pieces at the 2nd-floor atrium of the mentioned venue.

InDep member Dexter Alazas shared that he will celebrate the independent spirit with a breezy, luxe-resort theme while Lorenzo Ceniza used the color “red” to depict boldness and rage that also represents the current global crisis we are facing. Another member, Hanz Coquilla however, said that strength and vulnerability are his inspiration for his creation by merging a 30s military motif with the soft and delicate silhouette.

The mentioned pieces will be up for auction in the entire month of December. Some part of the proceeds will go directly to LoveYourself to further fight the spread of HIV.

“We picked functional art like fashion to be able to send a message and at the same time raise funds for our community center. In one way or another, hopefully, we can embrace this year’s theme of ‘Global solidarity, shared responsibility’ with the help of some of Cebu’s much-celebrated fashion designers,” said Jan Shaltiel Vincent Estrada, clinic manager of LoveYourself White House.
