Liza Soberano Voices Alexandra Trese in Netflix Newest Series
Liza Soberano is the Filipino voice actor of Netflix’s new series titled Trese, based on the award-winning graphic novel Trese, a Filipino Komik series written by Budjette Tan and illustrated by Kajo Baldisimo.
Liza voices Alexandra Trese, a babaylan-mandirigma who is a no-nonsense, edgy, mysterious character with a responsibility to maintain the balance between human world and the underworld.
Alexandra and her companions — the twins Crispin and Basilio, and Hank investigate crime scenes caused by the supernatural and uncovering the motives behind these crimes.
Trese’s story is set in Manila where supernatural creatures such as the “duwende”, “aswang”, “nuno sa punso”, “tikbalang”, “kapre”, “santelmo”, “tiyanak”, “white lady of Balete Drive”, “manananggal”, and many more live in hiding amongst humans.
When asked about her experience giving the voice of Alexandra Trese, Liza said that she had so much fun and excitement during the production of Trese.
“I was so excited and so passionate about it because while I was dubbing (Alexandra Trese)… I got to see the scenes that I was dubbing and it was so fun and it looks so cool to me and it just may be me even more excited to go to dubbing the next day,” Liza said to Metro Cebu News.
Dubbing Alexandra Trese was Liza’s first voice acting project and said she was nervous about it the first day.
“I was so nervous the first day, I think my nervousness also caused me to kind of like lose my voice later in the day so I got packed up pretty early but the next day,” Liza said.
After the production ended Liza said that she wanted to know more about what will happen next with the characters.
“I was so sad that we were already done and I was craving for more. I wanted to know more because I feel like the ending was a pretty big cliffhanger and left me with so many questions — it was so much I didn’t want it to end,” Liza said.
Trese premieres on Netflix, June 11, 2021. (ASC)
