LinkedIn’s 2023 Top Companies in the Philippines List: IT Services and Fintech Firms Take the Lead

LinkedIn, the largest professional network in the world, has released its 2023 Top Companies List in the Philippines, which features the 15 best workplaces for professionals to advance their careers. The list was created by ranking companies based on eight criteria: the ability to advance, skills growth, company stability, external opportunity, company affinity, gender diversity, educational background, and employee presence in the country.

IT services and consulting firm Accenture topped the list this year, followed by financial services firms Mynt (GCash) and Maya. For the first time, utility company Aboitiz Power, telecommunications corporation The Globe Group, pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim, outsourcing and offshoring consultancy services firm Sagility, and software and technology solutions provider SAP made it onto the list.

LinkedIn data reveals that in-demand skills for IT services companies include Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Computer Security, while financial services companies are looking for skills such as Fintech, Artificial Intelligence, and Economics. Some of the most significant job functions that these top companies are investing in include Engineering, Information Technology, Customer Success, and Support. The companies value candidates with soft skills, such as problem-solving, creativity, and innovation, according to a separate LinkedIn research.

“Globe’s ongoing efforts in nation-building necessitate hiring individuals who are not only well-versed in technical competencies but also passionate about creating purposeful good. We need visionaries, advocates, disruptors, risk takers, problem-solvers–individuals with a heart for the Filipino people,” Renato Jiao, Chief Human Resources Officer of the Globe Group, said.

“Beyond assessing the technical capabilities, we look for talents excited to build game-changing innovations and improve the lives of the country’s unhappily banked, underbanked, and unbanked. We ensure the talent we’re looking for aligns with our mission, vision, and corporate values,” Charee Lanza, Chief People Officer of Maya added.

To land a job at a top company, job seekers must research the company, demonstrate integrity and authenticity, demonstrate intent, be curious, learn in-demand skills, and persevere, according to Atul Harkisanka, the Head of Emerging Markets and Country Lead for the Philippines at LinkedIn. Candidates must research the company on LinkedIn, show their strengths and where they would like to develop, and demonstrate curiosity and passion for their work. Harkisanka also advised candidates to keep an eye out for skills in demand and to follow the top companies on LinkedIn.
