Light Rains Seen In Most Parts Of Philippines — PAGASA

Expect rains in most parts of the country on Wednesday due to the presence of two weather systems affecting the country, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

PAGASA said this is due to easterlies or warm winds from the east now affecting the eastern section of the Central and Southern Luzon and of Visayas and Mindanao while northeast monsoon or “amihan” prevails over Northern Luzon.

For Wednesday forecast, cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over Bicol Region, Visayas, Caraga and Northern Mindanao.

Cloudy skies with light rains is expected over Cagayan Valley and Cordillera. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will prevail over Ilocos Region.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will be experienced over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

It added moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Northern Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to northeast with slight to moderate seas.

The state-run weather bureau also issued a gale warning due to the effects of the northeast monsoon as the sea condition would be rough to very rough due to strong to gale force winds expected to affect the seaboards of Northern Luzon.

“Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves,” it warned. (PNA) JBP/CLTC
