LGUs to Support ‘Listahanan’
The Local Government Units (LGUs) in Central Visayas vow to support the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s ‘Listahanan’ or the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR).
DSWD conducted series of LGU orientation for its second round of household assessment. “Thank you for recognizing the importance of LGUs active involvement in the next household assessment,” said ZusanSiao, the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer of Siquijor.
“With our renewed partnership, we hope to make a difference in the lives of the least of our brethren,” she added.
Mayors, local social welfare and development officers, local planning and development coordinators and local information officers attended the orientation. During assessment, LGUs shall monitor and submit feedback about the deployed field staff to ensure that protocols are strictly followed.
Enumerators are expected to do courtesy call to the Mayors and Barangay Captains before they will visit the target household or family.
In conducting the family assessment, information is gathered using the family assessment form (FAF), a four-page questionnaire with 52 observable and verifiable variables. The family will be assessed based on their composition, household members’ highest educational attainment and occupation, features of the housing structure and access to basic services or facilities like water, electricity, and sanitary toilet, households’ ownership of assets, tenure status of housing among others.
Enumerators shall conduct the interview inside the house to ensure the veracity of the data collection.
The second round of household assessment will assess more than one million families in the entire region.
