Letterboxd & TV Time: Track the Movies and TV Shows You Watch

Published

on

What better way to spend the weekend night than relaxing on your favorite spot on the couch, maybe grabbing a snack, you are in your house clothes, and you are tuning in to your favorite show or movie currently airing on TV?

Sometimes we indulge in the simplest things in life, such as watching a movie or show, that we consider this activity enough as luxuries after a long day’s work or just for a good old me-time. Our busy lives tend to stray us away from this said luxury and oftentimes we end up putting our favorite shows on hold or postpone our plans to go see the movie we have been waiting for.

Two platforms have launched their way to cinephiles’ hearts for its users to track what they are watching. These platforms are free and offer a variety of films for both TV and movie lovers.

TV Time

TV Time is a platform that lets you track the shows you are watching. It also keeps you up to date with the latest episodes and updates you with the latest season. TV Time also has features where you can track down the shows you have already watched and jot down the ones that are on your to-watch list. You can also leave reviews and rate the show.

Although marketed as a tracker for TV shows, TV Time also has a list of movies in their library for you to mark.

Letterboxd

Letterboxd is a haven for movie lovers who take tracking down the movies they’ve watched seriously, write reviews about it, and interact with people who share the same sentiments regarding films as them. This platform has a giant library of movies where you can sort through genre, year of release, director, cast and crew, studio, reviews, lists, and so much more.

The platform is free and has a ton of features such as bringing you the latest news in cinema; showdowns where movies are sorted through moods, season, and the like; a diary for your personal use if ever you want to write something down, be it about film or not; movie lists by Letterboxd users; articles and premium memberships if ever users are interested.

Where TV Time is geared towards tracking TV shows yet it also offers its users to track down movies they’ve watched, Letterboxd is best used for movies but they also have a few TV shows in their library for users to track. It’s not a handful compared to TV Time’s list of movies, mostly just shows from HBO and Netflix, but other users take time to track these shows using Letterboxd and put them in their lists.

Not all of us are up for tracking what we watch. Either it could be because we’re too busy and preoccupied with a lot of things that are so much more important or we just don’t take TV and movie tracking to heart unlike others. But for those who love to do it, these two platforms are very useful and convenient to use. It also helps others jog their memory, practice their social skills through words on reviews and online interaction with other users, and gives them the nostalgia of the shows and movies they’ve watched and want to revisit someday.

Whichever is the case, enjoying a film is a nice feeling and wanting to remember what you’ve watched and wanting to watch is a great way to build up your memory and organizational skills.
