Lawyers To Give Free Legal Services
As part of the Department of Justice’s 116th anniversary, the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor (OPP) in Cebu will give free notarial services, issuance of clearance and other basic legal services in Alegria town, Cebu on September 27 and 28.
A team from Cebu’s OPP will gather at Batong Malunhaw Municipal Resort, Alegria at 1:30 to 5:30 in the afternoon of September 27, and from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm the following day. This two-day event is also part of OPP Cebu’s “Access to Justice” program, wherein prosecutors tour remote areas of the province to give legal aid. Prosecutors who will be coming to participate will give notarial services for live births and affidavits, issuance of Prosecutor’s Clearance, and follow-up on status of cases filed, all for free.
The Philippine Information Agency 7 (PIA) said this year’s event is also in coordination with the National Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Immigration and Deportation (BID), Integrated Bar of the Philippines – Cebu Chapter (IBP), Department of Health (DOH), and the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (Philhealth), which are also sending representatives to give their respective services to the people of Alegria on those dates.
