Landbank Launches Savings Account Opening on Mobile App
Opening a new savings account on Landbank is now possible via the state-run bank’s mobile app.
The digital onboarding system (DOBS) Mobile, which allows people to use their mobile phones to open a savings account, was announced in their Facebook page.
In their statement, Landbank said that the launch of their mobile app’s new important feature is an answer to the government’s Ease of Doing Business (EODB). The new feature will also be of great help to protect the bank’s clients as this will make them avoid going to branches physically as the COVID-19 pandemic rages on.
Landbank Branch Banking Sector head and executive vice president Julio Climaco Jr. said that the DOBS mobile commits to a safe digital banking solution, and ensures the health and safety of clients.
“The DOBS Mobile underscores Landbank’s continued commitment to provide accessible, convenient, and safe digital solutions. Our digital banking initiatives remain centered on balancing service delivery while ensuring the health and safety of our clients which is of utmost priority,” he said.
Features included for digital bank accounts that were opened using DOBS Mobile are cardless withdrawal, fund transfer and bills payment, Landbank iAccess, all through Landbank’s mobile banking app.
Physical regular Landbank Visa debit cards may also be requested by digital banking clients.
Clients interested in opening a digital savings account will only need to fill out the application forms online, and upload valid identification cards such as the unified multipurpose ID (UMID), passport, Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) ID, Social Security System (SSS) ID, company IDs, and school IDs for students.
