Ladies of different ages gathered together for a series of unique and life-changing talks from the speakers of Colour Me Ladies’ Conference held last March 8, 2014 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel.

Held also in different churches around the world, Colour Me Conference is a Christian gathering aimed at inspiring and empowering women from all walks of life.

The conference’s theme, “Lovin’ Life” emphasized the roles of women in society and different strategies on how women should cope with problems in their working, personal and spiritual relationships.

Christine Mata-Kairuz, wife of Peter M. Kairuz, the host of CBN Asia’s 700 Club and head of the Marillac Hills Ministry, served as keynote speaker for the gathering.

Kairuz shared points to remember in truly loving life with the Lord by embracing who you are, aiming for the right goals, paying debts, being organized, spending more time with family, saving regularly, choosing to be healthier, doing volunteer work and finding out what truly satisfies your soul.

“It’s difficult to trust God when you are consumed with fear and worry,” Kairuz quoted her talk with this bible verse from Philippians 4:11b-13.

Dr. Russell Makiling, a psychometrician and certified Human Resources consultant and Living Values trainer for UNESCO and UNICEF, recalled the different stories of women portrayed in the Bible in relation to how women deal with problems at present.

“We all have our brief psychotic reactions especially if you are a woman,” shared Makiling. Women deal with stressful situations through different defense mechanisms which lead to personality changes as explained by the speaker.

With a presentation of Michael Jackson’s “Just Call My Name”, Makiling encouraged the audience to call out God’s name and remain in his love in times of distress.

Karen Timbol, a former teenage personality in the hit show, “That’s Entertainment” and recording artist under BMG Pilipinas, and currently an entrepreneur, shared her testimony about God being a God of second chances.

“God has been there orchestrating the events in my life. He has healed the wounds in my heart and I will always share his love and goodness. You can never go wrong in trusting God,” said Timbol.

Part of a woman’s journey is having someone to share every challenge in their life; Maricel Laxa-Pangilingan, multi-awarded movie and television actress and triathlete, taught the attendees on how to balance different aspects in a woman’s life.

“Being a woman and managing different tasks, you need someone to help you. You can’t do it on your own,” shared Pangilingan.

“Our place is where God wants us to be. We are not to go ahead of God. Anything that is forced will not turn out wise”, she added.

Colour Me Ladies’ Conference is organized by the Citichurch with the cooperation of different Christian fellowships in Cebu.
