Kris Aquino is the Top Taxpayer of 2011

According to the data from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) posted on their website, show-business personality Kris Aquino has definitely earned herself another distinction, she is number one on the list of Top 500 individual taxpayers in the country.

Beating out the country’s billionaires, Kris, the youngest sister of President Benigno Aquino, paid nearly P49.87 million for income taxes for 2011.

Following Kris on the list is Sunpower Philippines vice president Gregory Deane Reichow with P38.2 million and former Philippine Ambassador to the UN Lauro Liboon Baja Jr. with P34.26 million. Fourth on the list was PLDT Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan with P25.99 million while president and CEO of Bank of the Philippine Islands, Aurelio Montinola III, came in fifth with P24.47 million.

Other celebrities, politicians, and businessmen also made to the list of BIR’s roster of top individual taxpayers.
