KonsultaMD is hosting live webinars on COVID-19, mental health, and other health issues as a way to assist Filipinos staying at home who may have queries concerning their physical and mental well-being.

The webinars will be aired via KonsultaMD’s Facebook account on April 3, 17, and 24 at 8pm and will feature Dr. Gia Grace B. Sison, a practicing medical doctor specializing in Occupational Medicine and is currently the Philippine Leader for Livestrong Foundation and the National Adviser of the Youth for Mental Health Coalition. She is a co-founder of #HealthXPh which promotes the responsible use of social media in healthcare.

“We understand the need of many Filipinos to know more about what is happening about COVID-19 and how they can cope with the stress that this situation is giving us, among other matters. That is why we are offering free webinars to make health advice easily accessible to everyone especially with the proliferation of fake information,” said Maridol Ylanan, CEO of Global Telehealth, Inc. which operates KonsultaMD.

The pilot episode will center around COVID-19 — updates on cases, preventive measures, natural ways to boost the immune system, how people can help flatten the curve of the virus, and what makes a person vulnerable, among other related topics. Part of the program will be devoted to answering questions from the viewers.

For mental health, which is the focus of the second episode, Dr. Sison will explain the causes of cabin fever, how COVID-19 affects a person’s mental health and how to lessen anxiety, stress, and depression in view of the current situation.

With the onset of summer, the last topic will be about heat stroke — causes, symptoms, treatment, and complications as well as how to prevent it from happening.

KonsultaMD is a 24/7 health hotline service manned by skilled and licensed Filipino doctors who provide medical services over the phone. They provide advice to health-related questions including COVID-19 and mental health first aid support.

The telemedicine company currently offers 30 days of free subscription to new customers who will sign up on or before April 13, 2020. Likewise, calls to the 79880 mobile hotline are free for Globe and TM subscribers. Customers of other networks are subject to charges of their mobile phone providers. KonsultaMD may also be reached via (02) 77988000.
