Keep Your Resolution On Track, On the Go

Published

Whether you’re working late, rushing to get the kids from school, or stuck in the rush-hour traffic, the new year is always a busy time—and it’s easy for your New Year’s resolutions to start falling off your priority list! During the busy holiday months, you need to get creative to keep your eating on track and keep up with those your New Year’s resolutions. Check these tips out:

Make a mental note of your nearby eating destinations. So no matter where you are or what you have to do, you know where you can stop in for a bite without worrying about your waistline. Look for restaurants that offer options with wheat bread, leaner proteins and lots of veggies.

Wrap up snacks. Keep snack close at hand – whether in your desk drawer, in your car’s glove box, or in your purse, bag or brief case. When the snack attack hits, grab a handful – one portion should do the trick to curb your hunger until you are ready to sit and enjoy your next meal. Try nuts, seed, dried fruit or whole grain crackers and pretzels.

Eat often. It is important to eat a mini meal (snack) every 2-3 hours. This ensures your stomach is constantly being fed and is not hitting deprivation mode. Fuel up on smart snacks, and make sure to include a balance of lean protein, grains and veggies in your meal so that you’ll feel satisfied for longer.
