‘Keep Our Homes Safe from Fire in Hottest Months’
Fire prevention should be everybody’s concern.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Virac, Catanduanes reiterated this public reminder as the lead agency in the prevention and suppression of destructive fires marked Fire Prevention Month in March, one of the hottest months of the year.
BFP fire stations in the province conducted various activities in connection with the
fire safety observance with the theme: “Ligtas na Pilipinas ating Kamtin, Bawat Pamilya ay Sanayin, Kaalaman sa Sunog ay Palawakin.”
In San Andres, the fire station which is headed by Fire Inspector Danilo L. Tayobana conducted hydrant testing, open house, urban fire olympics training, and visibility patrol.
On the other hand, Pandan fire station headed by Fire Officer Jesse B. Galang kicked off the observance with a thanksgiving mass, followed by a motorcade and bandillo around its area of responsibility.
For its part, Baras fire station headed by Fire Officer Mariano Marino Jr. conducted fire truck visibility, hanging of tarpaulin and roving within its area of responsibility.
San Miguel fire station conducted a whole-day Fire Safety and Prevention Orientation Seminar.
Utilizing the aid of broadcast media for wider range of information drive, Virac fire station personnel headed by Fire Inspector Dennis V. Tadoy visited the Radyo Pilipinas on March 21 to inform the public regarding the fire safety campaign of BFP. (PIA-5/Catanduanes)
