JVR to Give P1M to Councilors

Newly elected Talisay City Mayor Johnny delos Reyes promised to allocate P1 million as pork barrel to each of the city councilors for them to have their own projects.

Delos Reyes made the announcement when he gave his executive agenda Thursday at the 5th Sangguniang Panglungsod inaugural session. The new mayor, who is a Liberal Party member, assured that even those councilors of Alayon Party will get the same amount. He, however, clarified that the amount will come in tranches and by projects. “No. Dili ni siya cash. Project ra, ipasa sa amo, i-aprub namo,” he told reporters.

Asked where he would get the money, Delos Reyes said he would either get it from his Intelligence Funds or from the government’s surplus. The mayor explained that although majority of the council are opposition he still wants to make them feel that the administration is not depriving them of projects.
