JVR: Alayon to Blame in Tabunok Market Issue

The big issue in Talisay is not its shrinking budget but the reconstruction of the Tabunok public market which remained unattended until this time.

Talisay City Mayor Johnny delos Reyes was so aggressive to reconstruct the new Tabunok public market, but he has to humble down upon learning that his move was not duly supported by the city council.

“Because majority of the council members belonged to the Alayon Party who is more concerned about politics and not for the people’s welfare,” Delos Reyes lamented.

The more than P 500 million approved budget for 2015 has no single amount to be allocated the P350 million supposed budget for the restoration of the Tabunok public market.

The city council totally scrapped the planned Tabunok market restoration.

“So its not me to be blamed by the people but it’s the council members who disregarded the project,” Delos Reyes said.

Delos Reyes recalled what the Talisay people expected from him when he topped the Talisay city government after the 2013 elections.

“They anticipated me to restore the Tabunok public market, but the negative attitude displayed by the council members, has saved me from the total anguish and blame of the people,” Delos Reyes said.

Delos Reyes emphasized that the incoming 2016 elections is totally a day for every politician to recall what they have done to their constituents.

He said that what the people may want to see is solid project and not the liquid ones.

According to delos Reyes, the council members who do not want to reconstruct the Tabunok market may think that because they fiscalized much of the proposed P1 billion budget, and only approved half of it, which he considered as a liquid form in politics, ”They have already trusted by the public,” he said.

At this moment in time, all Talisay residents already know what is happening at city hall and how come the Tabunok public market project has not started.

“So if the people will ask me who blocked all my plans regarding the Tabunok market reinstallation, I will say blatantly, you blame the Alayon council members , the culprit of everything,” he added.
