June 15 Declared a Regular Holiday
President Rodrigo Duterte signed Proclamation No. 514, s. 2018 on June 6, 2018 in Malacañang declaring Friday, June 15, 2018, as a regular holiday throughout the country in observance of Eid’l Fitr or Feast of Ramadhan. This is to give homage to our Muslim brothers and sisters.
Eid’l Fitr marks the end of Ramadhan, a month-long period of fasting undertaken by Muslims worldwide.
Eid’l Fitr is the only day that Muslims are not permitted to fast in the month of Shawwal, or the tenth month of the lunar Islamic calendar. (Aljun Cainghog)
