JKSI-Meridian Participates in Brigada Eskwela 2019

Juanito King & Sons Inc. (JKSI) – Meridian Project, in partnership with Juanito I. King Foundation Inc. (JIKFI) participated in this year’s Brigada Eskwela Kick-Off ceremony on May 24, 2019 at Sirao Integrated School, Cebu City.

In recognition of the importance of education and encouragement of the next generation of Cebuanos to drive the province to further development, Over 25 volunteers from Juanito King & Sons, Inc. (JKSI), Juanito I. King Foundation Inc. (JIKFI) and SkyGO aided through the refurbishment of classrooms in Grade 4 & 5 levels at the integrated school.

This year marks JKSI’s 3rd year in conforming and supporting RA 8525, otherwise known as the Adopt-a-School Program Act of 1998.

Through the participation of JKSI and JIKFI, the school was improved through replacing rotten ceilings, fixing leaking roofs, refurbishing chairs by repainting and replacing rotten armchairs, fixed rotten blackboards and providing new whiteboards for a better educational quality of students at Sirao, which is 20.5km away from the city proper.

JKSI and JIKFI acted under the Brigada Eskwela 2019’s theme “Matatag na Bayan para sa Maunlad na Paaralan,” helping close to 600 students ranging from kinder to senior high school students.

Mr. Roy Genares, Sirao Integrated School’s Principal said “because Sirao is quite far from the city proper and roads going to the school are not good, very few stakeholders and partnership would go out of their way to help, which is why we are so thankful to JKSI and to JIKFI.”, a testament to the dedication JKSI – Meridian have on a quality Cebuano education.
