Japan to Disclose Photos of China’s Gas Development in E. China Sea
(PNA/Kyodo) — Japan plans to make public Wednesday afternoon aerial photos and other evidence showing China’s latest gas field development near the median line between its shoreline and that of Japan in the East China Sea, a senior government official said.
The disclosure is part of efforts to curb Beijing’s unilateral action that goes against a 2008 bilateral accord on joint gas development in the East China Sea, the official said on condition of anonymity.
The two governments have yet to agree on a boundary between their exclusive economic zones in the East China Sea. (PNA/Kyodo) FFC/RSM
