The leading flexible workspace provider IWG has announced its partnership with Cebu-based property developer AppleOne Properties, Inc. (API) to develop its first workspace franchises in the Philippines.

The signing ceremony in Cebu City was attended by Matthew James Kenley, Head of Partnership Growth APAC, IWG, Rowena B. Natividad, Head of Partnership Growth, IWG Philippines, Lars Wittig, Country Manager Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, South Korea, IWG, Ray Manigsaca, CEO & President, API, Venus Manigsaca, Chairman, API, and Joy Veloso, Executive Vice President, API.

The public signing ceremony marked the first franchise partnership in Southeast Asia, which will be API’s first workspace project and expand IWG’s footprint in the Philippines, particularly the Visayas region.

“It is a great honor to officially seal this franchise partnership with API. This partnership with such a successful homegrown property developer will help us contribute to suburban economic growth,” said Matthew James Kenley.

“This will benefit the local economy in numerous ways, from creating jobs both inside and outside the center, stimulating businesses and services in the nearby area, improving productivity and opening new working opportunities for those who live locally,” Kenley added.

“API has a proven track record and will be a strong franchise partner as we ramp up our presence in the Philippines and expand our global position,” said Rowena B. Natividad.

For over five years, API and IWG will work together to develop eight (8) new centers in six cities across the Visayas region: Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City (Mactan), Mandaue City, Dumaguete City, Iloilo City, and Bacolod City. These centers will join the IWG global network that currently consists of 3,400 locations across 120 countries. In the Philippines, IWG has 28 locations in 10 cities across Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao, and Clark.

“The serviced office market is one of the most exciting growth sectors in real estate, and we are excited to be involved in this next frontier. Our partnership with IWG will enable us to bring the many world-class benefits of flexible working to the professionals and businesses of Visayas,” said Ray Manigsaca, API CEO & President.

As an IWG franchise partner, API’s workspaces will become part of the globally recognized IWG brand and benefit from its 30 years’ experience as an industry leader. IWG brands, which include Regus and SPACES, serve the workspace needs of more than 2.5 million entrepreneurs, multi-million dollar individuals and corporations daily.

“We intend to continue developing the IWG network through strong franchise partnerships, and we are constantly searching for ambitious, experienced, entrepreneurial franchise partners so that we can have workspaces everywhere our customers need us to be,” said Kenley.
