(PNA) — The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains in most parts of Visayas and Mindanao on Monday, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

The ITCZ, which is the thick clouds coming from the south of Asia, is considered a breeding ground for low-pressure areas (LPAs) or potential cyclones.

In its advisory, PAGASA said Mindanao, Visayas and Palawan will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Light to moderate winds blowing from the east to southeast will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and coming from the southwest to southeast over Mindanao. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate.

Highest temperature in Metro Manila on Sunday was at 34.5 degrees Celsius recorded around 4 p.m. at the Science Garden in Quezon City.

Temperature on Monday in Metro Manila will range between 24-34 degrees Celsius while the heat index will be 28-38 degrees Celsius. (PNA) JBP/CLTC
