ITCZ, Tail-end Cold Front to Bring Rains in Luzon, Mindanao
Rains are expected over parts of Luzon and Mindanao on Wednesday, according to state weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
In its advisory, PAGASA said the tail end of a cold front continues to affect northern Luzon while the intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is prevailing over southern Mindanao.
The tail-end of cold front, the boundary of two air masses which produces clouds and rain, will bring light to moderate isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms in the areas of Batanes, Calayan, and Babuyan.
The ITCZ, the thick clouds coming from the south of Asia, is considered a breeding ground for low-pressure areas (LPAs) or potential cyclones, will bring light to moderate rain showers and isolated thunderstorms in the areas of Zamboanga, SOCCSKSARGEN, and the ARMM.
PAGASA said the rest of the country including Metro Manila will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with expected rain showers and thunderstorms.
The state weather bureau has not issued gale warning as the fisherfolk is safe to venture into the seas. (PNA) JMC/CLTC/Tresha R. Finianos/Hygeian R. Español (OJT)
