ITCZ Brings Rains in Visayas, Mindanao

Published

on

Fair weather with isolated thunderstorms will prevail in most parts of the country Tuesday except in Mindanao and some parts of the Visayas, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

PAGASA said an Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is affecting Mindanao.

ITCZ, which is the thick clouds coming from the south of Asia, is considered a breeding ground for low-pressure areas (LPAs) or potential cyclones.

Thus, cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will be experienced over Mindanao, Central and Western Visayas and MIMAROPA while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will be experienced over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Light to moderate winds blowing from the east to southeast will prevail over Northern Luzon and coming from the east over the rest of the country.

The coastal waters throughout the whole archipelago will be slight to moderate.

The state weather bureau has not issued gale warning so fisherfolks are safe to venture into the seas. (PNA) JSV/CLTC
