Isuzu Runs Drive Challenge in Cebu
Close to hundred participants are experiencing a very unique drive challenge as Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) project “D-Max 4×4 Drive Series” second leg turns full throttle on Friday at Ouano Ave., Mandaue City, Cebu.
The series aims to fearlessly dare challenger-drivers to use Isuzu D-Max 4×4 to survive the 14 various man-made terrain obstacles. The challengers are accompanied by off-road driving experts as they maneuver over hair-raising steeps and craggy roads.
The daredevil challenge, held just across Cebu International Convention Center (CICC), has lined-up with 40-degree hill climb, a stall mid-way up, lateral climb mount, driving over “elephant holes”, 40-degree descent, tackling trail ruts, 45-degree angles of sides up camber right and left, traversing a roundabout cone, lateral descent ditch crossing, driving over cross axle articulation rails, and many more.

The three-day drive challenge activity highlights the durability, reliability and capability of D-Max 4×4 to conquer off-road with 235 mm ground clearance, 30o approach angle, 22.7o departure angle and traverse angle of 49o.
With these capacities, the 4×4 D-Max proves to survive any terrain obstructions, especially in rural areas with rough terrain.
Fuel Efficiency
D-Max is economical in terms of fuel. According to the IPC Assistant Division Head of Sales, Joseph Bautista, a full tank of fuel (76 Liter) for D-Max 4×4 can accumulate to run 1,985 kilometers.
D-Max has exceptional performance as it offers anti-frictional melt-in system, cylinder liners, lifetime stainless steel, timing and chain, sophisticated engine head, large-size intercooler, common rail direct injection, and optimized transmission system.
The off-road driving challenge aims to give IPC clients in Cebu an opportunity for an advance drive-test experience by riding this Top Selling Four-Wheel Drive Pick-Up through this heart-pumping activity, and to witness its brave power.
“We choose Cebu because of its strong contribution to Isuzu’s sales”, said Executive Vice President Takashi Tomita.
D-Max is one of the top sellers in Region VII. D-Max 4×4 variants cost approximately P1.5 Million each unit, while D-Max 4×2 is P1.1 Million. This year’s next project of IPC is to launch their D-Max 4×4 variants as soon as their new branch in Mabolo, Cebu City is constructed.
