Israeli Medical Team Turns Over Field Hospital to NGO
After spending several days and treating around 2,000 patients in Bogo City, the Israeli medical doctors turned over their field hospital to a foreign non-government organization (NGO) in Bogo City.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs formally turned over on Monday afternoon the field hospital to an Austrian/German NGO.
“The Israeli Defense Forces have been welcomed warmly by the Cebuanos and are thankful for their support and assistance,” said the IDF in its statement released to MetroCebu News.
The IDF came to Cebu more than a week ago to help the typhoon-raved city. It has already treated more than 2,000 patients.
“Just as the Philippines supported the creation of the State of Israel 66 years ago, Israel has extended its hand in the time of need. This marks to the true bonds of friendship and partnership,” the statement said.
“Israel promised that the Philippines will never be alone and it was not. Both countries came together as one – significant unity valued by both peoples,” the IDF said.
