Israel Holds Homeland Security Business Forum in Manila
The Israel Embassy in Manila together with the Ministry of Industry of Israel with the support of The Israel Export & International Cooperation Institute (IEICI) will hold a Business Forum on Homeland Security (HLS) on July 15, 2014 (Tuesday) at the New World Hotel Makati.
Opening remarks will be given by Israeli Ambassador Menashe Bar On and Deputy Chief of Mission, Mr. Adam Levene will be sharing the Israeli government’s experience of assisting during Typhoon Yolanda.
The conference is also considered a pre-event for the planned Philippine participation in The 3rd International Conference on Homeland Security from November 9-12, 2014 in Tel Aviv and Israel’s Head of Economic and Trade Mission to the Philippines Mr. Doron Hemo will be giving an overview regarding the upcoming conference.
Lecturers for this forum include: Col. Shai Brovendor, Israel’s Defense Attache who is a graduate of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Dr. Efraim Laor who took up his doctorate on Policy, Strategy and Administration of Large Scale Emergency Situations at the University of London, Philippine Department of Transportation & Communications Undersecretary Mr. Jose Perpetuo Lotilla and National Security Council Undersecretary and Deputy Director General Vicente Agdamag.
This event will gather government officials, experts, private companies, and public authorities to share their knowledge and expertise on topics such as Counter Terrorism, Law Enforcement, Cyber Security and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management and it aims to showcase Israel’s edge in Homeland Security industry in the Philippines by providing information on how to enhance security by integrating operational know-how with advance tools and equipment necessary in dealing with existing and emerging threats in society.
This forum will be of great help to the attendees as this would not only increase their knowledge on national security and disaster mitigation but as well as create more opportunities for the military and security industries of both countries.
