Israel Experts To Conduct ‘Disaster Preparedness’ Lecture for Cebu Officials
Expert lecturers on disaster preparedness from the country of Israel are here in Cebu for a month-long workshop starting April 25 to May 30, 2014.
The said course will be conducted by the Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation through the Embassy of Israel in Manila and in partnership with Cebu Governor Hilario Davide III.
The trainors are set to tackle “Mass Event and Disaster Preparedness” to be held at Montebello Villa Hotel, in Banilad, Cebu City.
The Isreali Embassy said Israeli experts were brought in to share their knowledge and expertise on Disaster Risk Management.
The lecturers on this topic are Dr.Odeda Benin-Goren, who is currently a senior consultant for Trauma, Disaster and Emergency Preparedness, Dr. Chen Kugel, who is a graduate of Ben Guiron University and is the Commander of the medical identification unit of the Israel Defense Forces. Colonel Yehiel Kupershtein, who is the head of the Physical Protection Department & Head of Doctrine and Development Department in the Home Front Command (HFC) and is a certified HFC search & rescue team member.
The event will be attended by representatives from the Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Coast Guards, Cebu’s emergency responders (fire and rescue teams, Red Cross), and members from various businesses and non government organizations (NGOs).
The Israeli government has already poured not only its financial assistance to the typhoon Yolanda victims but so do with its manpower resources.
Governor Davide was thankful to the Isreali government officials who showed much benevolence and concerned to the Filipino people through the various kind of aids and assistance they offered to the beneficiaries.
