Isabela Rescue Teams Undergo 15-day Search And Rescue Training
Selected rescue team members from the municipal and city local government units are undergoing a 15-day training on search and rescue operations led by the Philippine Air Force – Tactical Operations Group (PAF-TOG) – 2.
The training started Tuesday and expected to be finished on the first week of May.
Air Force Maj. Ronald Manije, Deputy Commander of TOG-2, said the training aimed to enhance the inter-operability of the rescuers in times of calamities whether it was in land or in water scenarios.
“Rescuers must be taught inter-operability through camaraderie to effectively carry out search and rescue operations,” Manije said.
The training includes lectures and practical search and rescue operations in high rise buildings, underwater swimming and other possible calamity scenarios.
The air force official was confident that the search and rescue training to be learned by the rescue teams would be reciprocated in their respective areas until the grassroots level or in barangays. (PNA) RMA/SCD/MGEDALE
