Iran to Become Center to Produce Insulin in West of Asia
Tehran — Managing Director of Novo Nordisk global healthcare company said on Sunday that once an insulin drug production unit is operational in Iran, the Islamic Republic of Iran will become center to produce the drug west of Asia.
He told the International Seminar of Foreign Investment in Health that Iran will also stand as the 5th country in terms of its technology know-how for production of high-tech medicine.
He said that full operation of the medicine producing unit will meet national need to insulin.
He referred to 70 million euros investment in establishment of the unit in Iran and said once the unit is operational, 600 experts will get busy in the industry and annually 100 million euros in foreign currency will be saved for the country.
The official said that Iran is the 5th country for acquiring the know-how for production of insulin and European experts will oversee the production process in the country. (PNA/IRNA) RMA/SSC
