Innoland Tops off Calyx
CALYX RESIDENCES at the Cebu Business Park recently celebrated its important construction milestone in history last June 29, 2013.
The topping off ceremony symbolized the official completion of the building’s structure. This tradition dates back to 700 A.D. in Scandinavia and migrated to the Americas through European craftsmen and spread to other parts of the world.
In the Philippines, the traditional practice of a topping off is the shoveling of cement on the building’s topmost section but staying true to its commitment to innovation, Innoland did a different version of its topping off.
A Beam which contains the Philippine flag at one side symbolizes the workers and company’s contribution to nation building of the country while the other side of the beam contains a fortune plant that symbolizes growth and good luck. Before the beam was hoisted up, the execom did the symbolic signing of the beam which was followed by a production number by this year’s Sinulog festival Queen & Aliwan Queen 2013 Jamie Herrel, with her sister Crystal Herrel—another FIRST, only with Innoland.
