‘Ineng’ Leaves 5 Dead — NDRRMC
(PNA) — The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported that five people in Mountain Province, Benguet and Ilocos Norte are among the casualties during the onslaught of Typhoon “Ineng”.
In its bulletin issued at 11 p.m. Friday, NDRRMC identified the casualties as Eycar Manid-ing Mayon, 10, of Namaetec, Sabangan, Mt. Province; Erik Celo, 26; Markim Celo, 21, both residents of Gamban, Bakut, Benguet; Michael Felix Guingaban, 58, of Labayan, Bangao, Buguis, Benguet, who all perished due to landslides while Hermino Taguinio Jr.,, 48, of Barangay Capangdanga, Pinili, Ilocos Norte died when a mango tree fell on him.
The NDDRMC also reported four persons were injured in Mountain Province, Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur while two persons remain missing in La Union and Ilocos Norte.
The NDRRMC said Ineng has affected 325 families or 1,357 people in in Regions 1, 2 and Cordillera Administrative Region.
Of these, some 301 families or 1,234 people were staying inside evacuation centers.
It added that 27 roads in Regions 1 and CAR while three bridges in Region 2 were closed to traffic.
Power interruptions/outages were experiencing in Sta. Ana, Cagayan; Bagukin, La Union and Batanes province and the entire Cordillera Administrative Region. (PNA) JBP/CLTC
