Increase of Students Seen in Talisay Public Schools
Talisay City’s public schools, both in the elementary and high school levels, have seen an increase of at least 500 students.
Department of Education (DepEd)-Talisay City Division Superintendent Woodrow Denuyo said a huge chunk of this number are transferees from private schools who are now attending classes in grade school and high school levels.
As of June 7, the city’s public elementary and high schools have a total population of 43,167 students. Denuyo said they have about 32,900 students in the elementary and kindergarten levels, a slight increase to last school year’s 32, 104. In the secondary level, however, the DepEd superintendent said the 11, 267 students for this school year are lower than last year’s 11,558.
