ILPI Distributes Slippers, Snacks to Over 2,000 Learners
The Iligan Light and Power, Inc. (ILPI) distributed 2,463 pairs of slippers and snacks to seven public elementary schools here as its way to give back to the community, January 10.
With the theme, “A Step and a Light for a Brighter Tomorrow,” the Tsinelas Para sa Kabataan (Slippers for the Children) aims to empower the future through providing something that would give delight to the learners in the elementary/central schools of Digkilaan, Rufino Mangilisan, Laranjo, Kalamalamahan, Tubaran, Mandulog and Hinaplanon.
“The power industry is evolving into its present state and with the existence of the open market, we are also gearing up ourselves but of course, we do not forget that we are also responsible to the public whom we are trying to help and also our partner in doing this business,” said Casa Belandres of ILPI.
Prioritizing the schools in the hinterlands, the Tsinelas Para sa Kabataan is implemented in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) which targets to sustain the partnership with the sector especially when the Brigada Eskwela will commence soon.
For the DepEd’s part, Omar Hussein urged the children to show their gratitude to the stakeholders and partners who provided the goods by enhancing the former’s academic performance. (RTP/PIA10)
